Dare to dream

When I go up, I want to have my own vintage/all things pretty homewares store. I've always dreamed of having my own store but it's always been just that, a dream. It's not that I'm fearful of change. I love change. But with a family to support, financially it's just easier to work for someone else and have a steady pay cheque each week. But one day, oh yes, one day, perhaps I'll make it happen. Sound convincing? Hardly! Until that day, I will live this dream through the eyes of others like Prairie Collective, the brain child of the makers of Design Sponge.

The making of a store...

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I think your dream sounds great and I reckon it's something I'd quite enjoy doing as well. The buying for the store would be the best fun!
I'd quite also like to be a fashion designer :)

My dream also sounds very similar. Lots of vintage finds plus load of beautiful handmade clothes and bits and pieces.

What a wonderful dream and one day I'm sure it will happen. I'd love a really funky handmade and vintage kids clothes and toys store. That would be so much fun!

i know the feeling. i constantly yearn for my very own cosy b&b in a forest or valley somewhere or a teeny tiny cafe that only sells cake and tea by the sea...

Divine, i work in a Handmade Collective (Shop Handmade) in Canberra & well you don't need to own it, just lease a part of it & da dah, they support over 135 small businesses in one place. It's simply awesome, inspiring, fun & a lot of hard work. Collectives are the way to go, i'm so proud to be a player.
In the mean time, i have 4 children to raise after school hours & no, would never ever want to work full time for anyone else. Love Posie

Loving seeing all the grit before the renovation for your lovely store - the elbow grease sure has paid off - can I be you when I grow up - would love to do this :)
